Dulak Pilates Center is dedicated to continuing the work of Joseph Pilates. With Janice Dulak, our resident Master Instructor trainer, certified by Romana's Pilates and True Pilates NY, your journey to become an instructor can begin here.

 


Preparation: 
6 months to 1 year. Private lessons sufficient to bring the student to the Intermediate Level.

Assessment: 
To enter the program, you will perform an Intermediate Pilates session on the reformer, mat and other apparatus. If accepted, you will become a Dulak Pilates Center apprentice.

 


Stage 1 Seminar:
Learn how to teach the Basic System. This seminar is approximately 12 hours and is taken at Dulak Pilates Center.

Stage 1 Apprenticeship:
A minimum of 17 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months is required at Dulak Pilates Center for Stage 1 Apprenticeship. This consists of observing lessons, practice teaching, group workouts, ground-up studio management duties and apprentice meetings.

Stage 1 Testing:
Stage 1 Testing requires a performance by the apprentice of the Basic System and a practical teaching component where the apprentice teaches a Basic System.

 


Stage 2 Seminar:
Learn how to teach the Intermediate System. This seminar is approximately 18 hours and is taken at Dulak Pilates Center.

Stage 2 Apprenticeship:
A minimum of 17 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months is required at Dulak Pilates Center for Stage 2 Apprenticeship. This consists of observing lessons, practice teaching, group workouts, ground-up studio management duties and apprentice meetings. Apprentice meetings will now cover how to work with clients who have injuries or other physical issues. Preparation for taking the Stage 2 written test begins.

Stage 2 Testing:
Stage 2 Testing requires the apprentice to take a practical and written test. The practical is teaching a person an Intermediate System. The written is a case scenario on the Intermediate Level.

 


Stage 3:
Stage 3 is the Advanced System. This seminar is taught in various Pilates studios across the country by Grand Master Instructors. Once approved, apprentices will leave Dulak Pilates Center and finish their certification requirements in the studio of their chosen Advanced Seminar. Dulak Pilates Center will assist.
